Jardim da Serra – Cherry Ground
Jardim da Serra derives from Quinta do Jardim da Serra and very Rural life . The farm was built in the 19th century, by Henry Weiteh, up on the mountain. The civil parish is known to possess a very fertile land for cherries. After all, Jardim da Serra is the only place in the island where the red fruit grows. For that reason, the parish celebrates a feast that attracts thousands of visitors every year. A very attractive area where life is so pleasant and everyone helps one another. Spring time is a lovely sight to see the Valley flowering and the beauty of nature as for the locals it’s there time to blossom for the cherry festival where you can eat and drink the local traditional foods of the festival.
Fontes
Very few are those who know São Paulo. Fewer are those who know Fontes. It is in Fontes that you will find the habitational nucleus with the highest altitude in the island. Some years ago it was much harder to access these locations, however nowadays, the construction of new roads between Campanário and these remote areas has shorten the distance and time spent traveling.
Eira do Mourão
Eira do Mourão belongs to parish and county of Ribeira Brava. Eira do Mourão is one of those sights embedded in the mountains of Madeira, that due to difficult access remained hidden for years, where people lived from agriculture, virtually isolated from the outside. Spectecular scenery`s of valley`s and villages together a lovely Chapel that has been built up in the mountains.
